First trailer for Half of a Yellow Sun - thoughts?

There was a lot of controversy generated by Thandie Newton’s casting… Her Nigerian accent still ain’t shit but then they never are.

*sigh* I’m not going to lie, it’s a good trailer. But the casting of some the characters I still find to be a bloody disappointment and nuisance. Oh, and from the same producers who brought you several inaccuracies of African conflict….. As a Nigerian (had to throw that in lol) I’m proud of Chimamanda’s accomplishments and I’ll still go to watch it because I am certain that it won’t be all bad and I am very curious to see the portrayal of the Biafran war. I can’t wait for the reviews once it comes out.

One of the first Nigerian books I read, after things fall apart. I am watching this movie. :-)

*last photo: The monarch of Idumuje-Unor, Agbogidi Obi James Anyasi II is the longest reigning king in Africa and the second in the world after King Bhumibol Adelyadej of Thailand reputed as the World’s longest reigning monarch. A phenomenal king headed for the Guinness book of records, he was born on the 6th of March 1924.
